2. Claims
2.1 Damage or Breakage During Transport
Goods must be inspected by the customer upon delivery.
If the goods are accepted by a third party on behalf of the purchaser, the latter must inform them of the need to check the goods. The purchaser assumes all liability for any damage or loss if the third party signs without performing the necessary checks.
- Visible damage: If the parcel, box or packaging shows visible damage from transport, you must notify Maanta by Bega Srl within 14 days of delivery so that we can lodge a claim with the carrier.
- Hidden damage: Hidden damage refers to a defect or damage that is not visible at delivery because the outer packaging appears intact. In such cases, please report the issue to Maanta by Bega Srl as soon as possible and no later than 14 days from receipt, so we can start the claims process with the courier and find a suitable resolution.
You must report the damage to Maanta by Bega Srl by completing the contact form on the maanta.com website, selecting “Claim” as the reason and providing the following information:

- Close-up photo of the shipping label with a clearly readable tracking number.
- Two photos of the parcel from different angles, showing all six sides:
-
- One photo should include the top and two adjacent sides.
- The second photo should show the bottom and the opposite sides.
IMPORTANT: Please keep the box and its contents intact. Do not dispose of any part of it in case the courier needs to perform an inspection.

3. Warranty
3.1 Limited Warranty
All products are sold by Maanta by Bega Srl SB, Strada Statale 11, KM 331, Gambellara - 36053 (VI), Italy.
Unless otherwise stated in the product data sheet, the warranty period is two (2) years.
All Maanta by Bega Srl products are covered by a 2-year statutory warranty under applicable regulations for defects in conformity not caused by misuse.
If you experience an issue, you can submit a claim by completing the relevant form on the website, selecting “Claim” and attaching the required documentation (description, photos, proof of purchase).
Customers must inspect the products upon delivery and report any issues within two months of discovery.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, incorrect installation, normal wear and tear, or product modifications.
IMPORTANT: This warranty is valid only when the product is used correctly and in accordance with the provided instructions. Installation requirements may vary depending on the type of surface, anchoring points, local wind conditions, and other environmental factors.
Under this warranty, we take responsibility for ensuring that newly manufactured products (shade sails, poles, wall fixings, and plates) meet the specifications listed in the product description at the time of delivery. A defect is considered valid only if the product’s quality or usability is significantly impaired.
This warranty excludes any damage or faults resulting from improper use or failure to follow the installation and usage instructions. Normal wear and tear is not covered. Products that have been modified, repaired, or are no longer in their original condition at the time of sale are also excluded.
We encourage you to review the warranty exclusions listed below, which outline the product features not considered as defects and the installation requirements necessary for the warranty to remain valid.
If a claim is valid, Maanta by Bega Srl will, at its discretion, repair or replace the product within a reasonable timeframe.
The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover damage or defects resulting from the following circumstances:
a. Weather Conditions and Force Majeure:
- Damage caused by strong winds, storms, hail, snow, lightning, or other extreme weather conditions.
- Tears, warping or structural failure due to adverse weather events.
- Damage caused by water pooling on surfaces that were not properly angled for drainage.
IMPORTANT (for all products installed or exposed outdoors):
Do not leave products unattended during adverse weather conditions. In the event of strong wind, heavy rain, hail or similar, products must be dismantled or secured to prevent damage. Failure to follow this guideline will void the warranty.
Note for Shade Sails:
Shade sails must always be installed with correct tensioning and a suitable slope to allow rainwater to run off effectively and avoid water pooling. Installation without adequate angle or tension may cause sagging, damage or structural failure, which are not covered by warranty.
b. Improper Use, Neglect and Incorrect Installation:
- Damage due to improper use, neglect, abuse, or use for purposes other than intended.
- Incorrect installation or failure to follow the provided instructions.
- Structural or functional damage caused by incorrect installation of supports, anchors, or accessories.
- Damage resulting from modifications, repairs or alterations made without written approval.
- Malfunctions or defects caused by improper or inadequate maintenance.
c. Accidental Damage and Third-Party Causes:
- Defects or damage caused by accidents or third parties.
- Damage due to theft, loss, or proximity to external risk sources unrelated to the product’s quality (e.g. barbecues, fireplaces, ovens, electrical wires, irrigation systems, plants, etc.).
- Damage from direct heat, sparks, or embers from open flames.
d. Aesthetic Aspects, Wear and Natural Material Changes:
- Normal wear and tear from sun exposure, weather, and prolonged use.
- Surface scratches, fading, or superficial corrosion of metal or fabric parts that do not affect functionality.
- Creases, ripples, small holes, friction marks or aesthetic changes that do not affect the performance of the product.
- Changes in chemical composition, tonal variations or fading due to UV exposure or other environmental factors.
e. Chemical Damage or Excessive Stress:
- Damage caused by exposure to chemicals (including chlorine) or aggressive substances.
- Damage from over-tensioning, mechanical friction or exposure to open flames.
f. Limitations of Liability:
- Indirect or consequential damages of any kind, including injury to persons, damage to buildings, or nearby objects.
- The warranty does not cover removal, reinstallation or mounting costs for the products or any replacement components.
- Any additional claims by the customer beyond those expressly provided under this warranty are excluded.
Warranty Limitations
IMPORTANT: All warranties and conditions (whether express or implied, statutory or otherwise) relating to the Product or its supply are expressly excluded, and Maanta by Bega Srl will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by any person (including the purchaser of the Product) in any way connected to or arising from the Product or its use (including any loss or damage resulting from the negligence of Maanta by Bega Srl or attributable to it). Where liability for breach of warranty or condition, or any other liability imposed on Maanta by Bega Srl by law, cannot be excluded but may be limited, Maanta by Bega Srl limits its liability to the extent permitted by law, and where multiple limitations are available, Maanta by Bega Srl will choose, at its sole discretion, how to apply them.
The company is not liable for incidental, consequential, special, liquidated, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for loss of revenue, profit, use or goodwill, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, arising from a breach of this warranty or in connection with the sale, installation, maintenance, use, operation or repair of any product or service. Under no circumstances shall the company’s liability exceed the purchase price of the product or service provided.
Note
Fabric colours may appear differently depending on screen settings.
Shade sail dimensions may vary from those specified. Sail measurements refer to eyelet-to-eyelet distances and, unless stated otherwise, are concave in shape. Proper installation and tensioning are crucial: minor differences in size are not a concern, as good tension is essential for performance and visual appeal.
3.2 Safety Warnings and Installation Instructions
Shade sails must be installed securely and with even tension to reduce the impact of wind on the fabric.
Loose or improperly tensioned fabric can lead to premature wear due to mechanical stress.
Soft or slack fabric may cause malfunctions and lead to future damage.
Such damage is not UV-related and is not covered by the warranty.
Regular maintenance is essential to keep the fabric taut and in good condition.
While all Maanta by Bega Srl structures are tested for weather resistance, we do not recommend or guarantee the use of sails in wind conditions exceeding the specified limits (see technical sheet).
The warranty is valid only if the product is securely anchored with an appropriate system.
We do not cover damage caused by ground contact, external objects, extreme weather, or other acts of force majeure.
We strongly recommend removing the sails when not in use.
The warranty applies only to safe, sensible use in line with our usage guidelines.
Fixing systems must be chosen based on the type of masonry and installed accurately and securely.
Maanta by Bega Srl products must be used with attention to weather conditions. In windy conditions, extra care is required.
We do not recommend or guarantee the use of sails in strong winds or conditions exceeding the stated limits.
Sails should be taken down when not supervised.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
- wind
- fire
- theft
- vandalism
- misuse
3.3 Factors to Consider Before Installation
- Available space and anchoring dimensions
- Sail dimensions and shape
- Strength of existing structures
- Sun direction and angle
- Feasibility of installing fixing poles
- Distance from barbecues, ovens, electrical/telephone cables, irrigation systems, plants, etc.
There may also be additional conditions depending on your specific installation context.
Sails must not be left loose or able to move freely, as this may cause damage to the fabric.
They must not be used for walking on, as hammocks, trampolines, or in any other way outside their intended use, which is sun and rain protection.
Maanta by Bega Srl sails are designed to provide UV protection and comfort in residential outdoor settings.
Proper tensioning and anchoring are essential to ensure safety and product longevity.
Check regularly. Exposure to chemicals such as chlorine may damage the fabric.
Before using any chemical substances nearby, please contact Maanta by Bega Srl’s technical support.
Do not light fires under or near the sail.
Remove the sail temporarily in case of storms, strong winds or snowfall.
Sails must always be removed if they cannot be adequately protected from sudden storms.
Since wind speed can vary and gusts can be intense, we always recommend removing waterproof sails.
The warranty is only valid if the user does not alter the tensioning systems or other components.
The customer is responsible for any planning, permits, engineering and/or construction required for installation.
Any damage caused by incorrect installation (including but not limited to engineering errors, lack of permits, defective construction, or unsuitable materials) is not covered under warranty.
