MAISTRA: THE DESIGNER PERGOLA FOR GARDEN AND TERRACE
Maistra is a pergola canopy produced entirely in Italy with top-quality raw materials designed specifically for outdoor use. In fact, the aluminum and polypropylene are maintenance-free and will not present problems of rust and mold. The design combines elements of essentiality, modernity and elegance and will allow to give a wonderful look in all situations and places such as gardens, patios, near a swimming pool or to furnish bars and restaurants.
You can spend time on the patio without having to worry about excessive sun exposure, as Maistra provides pleasant shade. The breathable fabric will promote enough air circulation to allow for a freshness diffculty to be found with other fabrics. The unique Rotary Lock-Pin joint at the same time gives great stability to the roof and also allows it to rotate in a variety of positions, having the ability to optimize the cone of shade and thus effective protection from the sun.
ROTARY LOCK-PIN
It is one of the secrets of this structure. It is made from a solid piece of aluminum: our CNC machining center hollows out this component. This machining from solid thus gives unparalleled structural strength. The roof attaches to the poles by fitting the profile into this joint, which will "embrace" it, holding it steady and stable in its various positions.

INCLUDED ELEMENTS
POLE AND MOUNTING PLATE
The Maistra freestanding awning is supported by two Silver-colored poles.
These allow the height of the awning to be adjusted and support the swivel joints equipped with the Rotary Lock pin system.
The pole consists of a supplied galvanised base plate and aluminium body. Aluminium is naturally salt water resistant and rust free!

Tilting, opening and closing Maistra is super easy with the innovative Rotary Lock-Pin system.
Two swivel joints are machined from a solid aluminium block with tenths of a millimetre precision so that the tensioned structure can rotate to change the shade cone or to let the rain run off on the desired side.

Having tidy ropes is every sailor's mantra, we at Maanta dedicated to the sea after bringing nautical conception into sun sails, we also bring in the values of seamanship.
Included are two rope cleats, made entirely of 316 stainless steel. This simple accessory allows you to keep the two ropes for turning and tilting Maistra in order.

The maneuvering rod allows the tilting of Maistra in order to change the cone of shade. Depending on the time of day and the position of the sun, you can thus vary the shade.

OPTIONAL ANCHOR ACCESSORIES
KIT BASES MAISTRA
Maistra's two poles can be fixed firmly to the ground by plinth or concrete surface. Alternatively, to avoid drilling or permanent fastening, the kit consisting of two supports and base covers can be used.
The basic kit does not include the ballast slabs, which we recommend to be made of concrete with size 40x40 cm, thickness 40 mm weighing about 14 kg each.

SLABS FOR MAISTRA BASE KIT
The weighting plates are not included. They are available at any hardware store.
We recommend a ballast of about 50 to 60 kg per base.
Maistra base kits do not support slabs thicker than 40 mm, they may not make the satin plate cover close.
Four plates are sufficient for each support, thus making a total of 8.

THREADED RODS KIT
M12x13 cm threaded rods and a chemical anchor are required to securely fasten the base of Alu-Simple poles, on plinth or a concrete surface.

The Easy Lamp spotlight is specially designed to be compatible with Maistra's poles. In fact, it is possible to position it at an adjustable height along the two present lanes.

UNIVERSAL CLEAT
Although already present in the Maistra kit, it may come in handy to add an additional cleat to keep the two ropes in order. One for rotating Maistra's tilt, the second for opening and closing.

MAIN ASSEMBLY STEPS OF MAISTRA: THE DESIGN CANOPY!
1 - BASE KIT
The first step is to mount the optional Maistra Base Kit, alternatively you can fix the base-plates of the poles directly to the ground for fixed installation.

2 - SUPPORT POLES
Continue with the assembly of the pole.
If you opt to fix the pole to the ground, remember to wait the time specified by the chemical anchor before stressing the base.

3 - ROTARY PIN-LOCK
Compose the pre-assembled joints following the given directions.
Remember: the side with two pulleys will be the maneuvering side to open/close/tilt Maistra.

4 - HORIZONTAL BAR
Assemble the horizontal bar and attach it to the two poles.
You can do this on your own by first fixing one side and then switching to the opposite side, but we recommend asking another person for help.

5 - CROSSBARS
Assemble the crossbars and attach them to the horizontal bar, then you can fix the fabrics.
6 - FABRIC STRIPS
Lastly, proceed to assemble the fabric strips.
Simply insert the fabric strips into the lanes of the crossbars and complete the installation.

FAQ
Yes, Maistra like all freestanding awnings is not snow load certified.
The materials used in Maistra have no problem with the weather, they can be installed in the mountains as well as at the sea. They are not subject to saltiness.
Therefore, closure is recommended in case of snowfall.
Maanta by Bega manufactures and distributes directly through the e-commerce channel; at the moment Maistra is not available custom-made.
The processing cycle is very long and delicate, every cut and hole must be made with precision to the tenth of a millimeter.
For a custom product we will not be able at the moment to offer short lead times as we do by policy on other products.
Yes installation without the optional bases is possible, you will need to anchor the two poles to the ground with the appropriate threaded rods, click here.
If placed on the ground, it will be necessary to make 60x60x60cm concrete supports.
Maistra can also be installed on a terrace with the optional bases kit.
It is recommended to check the load bearing capacity of the floor slab, the bases alone should be covered with concrete plates weighing a total of 60Kg (132lb) / each.
