Thera Maxi Water-repellent bean bag chair with removable cover

Thera Maxi is the largest version of the Maanta outdoor bean bag: the bean bag chair in polypropylene bouclé, hand-sewn in our workshop in Gambellara. One metre sixty long by one metre wide: a seat to stretch out on, one that moulds to your body and stands up to rain and sun.
Made for long relaxing, on the terrace, in the garden or by the pool, where space is no problem.

  • Polypropylene bouclé fabric: the softness of a sofa fabric with an outdoor core, in 5 colours.
  • Handmade in Italy, in the Maanta workshop in Gambellara.
  • Holds around 400 litres of EPS beads, the amount that gives it body and softness.
  • Maxi seat 100 × 100 × 160 cm, with a removable, washable cover, with a double zip-and-Velcro closure.

The cover-only version is the more economical choice.
EPS beads weigh little but take up a lot of volume (400 litres), and by buying them separately, close to home, you avoid paying to ship them.
You receive the outer cover, sewn and assembled with its inner liner, and you buy the filling separately, adding just enough to reach the softness you want when you sink into it in the evening.

Thera Maxi is the oversized version of the Maanta bean bag chair: a seat measuring 160 cm in length and 100 cm in both width and height, crafted from polypropylene bouclé fabric and hand-stitched in Italy.

Same fabric and the same attention to detail, but in a larger size. Thera Maxi is designed for generous spaces and the most relaxed outdoor living experience.

The fabric is water-repellent: water slides off rather than soaking in, with no PFAS or chemical treatments involved. It handles rain and splashes with ease and can stay outdoors all year round, though it is not designed for full submersion.

Its generous dimensions make it comfortable for two people sitting side by side, or for one person who wants to stretch out.

Yes. The bouclé has a furnishing look that works beautifully in a living room, a conservatory, or a loft space.

In the fabric-only version, it weighs approximately 1 kg: compact and lightweight for easy handling. With EPS filling, it weighs around 5 kg.

Silkk Bouclé in 100% polypropylene: the warm, textural loop weave of an upholstery fabric, combined with the durability of a technical outdoor fabric.

It is a hydrophobic fibre by nature, UV-resistant and quick-drying. It needs no chemical treatments to repel water.

It is a dyeing process where colour is infused into the fibre during extrusion, not applied to the surface (solution-dyed). It won't peel or fade: lightfastness rating 7-8 ISO 105-B04.

With high-density EPS balls of 5 mm, contained in an inner TNT liner that holds them in place and maintains the shape.

With heavy use, the volume may reduce slightly. The filling is topped up easily: simply add new beads to restore support.

Yes, it is fully removable thanks to the double ZIP + velcro fastening, featured on both the outer lining and the inner bag.

Yes. Polypropylene does not absorb water and provides no nutrients for mould or bacteria, even in damp environments such as poolside areas.

No assembly required. With the complete version, simply take it out of the packaging, place it wherever you like, and sit down; with the fabric-only version, you just need to add the EPS balls first.

In the fabric-only version, no: you receive the outer cover ready-assembled and the inner liner, and you add the EPS beads yourself. It's the option that saves you money. Alternatively, choose the complete version, which comes with the filling already inside.

Simply remove the outer cover and rinse it with cold water, no detergents needed. For stains, a little water and mild soap is all it takes.

Polypropylene does not absorb water and dries quickly: after rain or splashes from a dive, it is soon ready to use again.

Yes. The fabric is water-repellent and handles rain with ease. To keep it looking its best for longer, storing it away when not in use will help it last even more.

Open the inner liner, place the opening against the EPS bead bag and pour them in gradually. Using a cardboard funnel helps reduce static and keeps the beads under control. Fill to your preferred level of support.

Thera Maxi has a generous volume: you'll need more than one bag of EPS beads. [Exact litres to be confirmed] It's best to be generous with the filling, so the chair offers good support and holds its shape.

No. Simply clean it when needed and, if you wish, store it indoors during the off-season to keep it looking its best for longer.

Yes. The outer cover is available to purchase separately: refresh the colour or replace it without changing the entire chair.
