The ballast base makes the Elicro sail parasol freestanding — no need to drill the floor. What holds it steady is the weight of the base plus the slabs you load inside: designed for places where drilling isn't possible or wanted, like a terrace, poolside or any flooring you don't want to damage.

If you want to position Elicro in a place where drilling is not possible, for example a terrace you want to preserve, a poolside, or an apartment building, the ballast base makes it self-supporting, with no need to anchor it to the floor.
You ballast it with simple concrete slabs, available at any DIY store: place the plate, arrange the slabs, level with the feet and close with the cover, with no need for specialist labour.

110×110×8 cm galvanised steel plate, designed by our R&D team to withstand the harshest weather conditions.
The total weight of the parasol and base transferred to the ground is designed to stay within standard floor slab limits, making it ideal for large terraces.
One per corner, 30 mm of travel: they compensate for uneven surfaces and keep Elicro level even on irregular terraces.

1 ballastable base designed by Maanta to withstand even marine environments.
1 designer LID cover, made of powder-coated iron, that protects the ballast weights and finishes off the base. It's removable, so you can access the slabs whenever you need to.
Beneath the base are 4 hidden adjustable feet to stabilise Elicro and compensate for any unevenness.
It keeps Elicro firmly in place without drilling into the ground: it's the alternative to floor anchoring with wall plugs (included with Elicro), where the weight of the ballast does the job that holes in the screed would otherwise do.
No. It is an optional accessory that can be purchased separately, if you want to install Elicro without drilling into the floor.
Perfect for terraces, balconies, and surfaces you cannot or prefer not to drill into: tiled flooring, flat installations in shared buildings, and poolside areas.
110×110×8 cm, 50 kg empty with the lid. With the required ballast weights, the complete system with Elicro reaches approximately 200 kg.
The frame is made of galvanised anti-corrosion iron, while the cover is finished in powder-coated iron — the same treatment used on Elicro: rust-resistant and perfectly suited to coastal areas too.
The cover, made from powder-coated steel, protects the ballast weights and gives the base a neat, finished look. It is removable, so you can easily access the slabs whenever needed.
Yes, slightly: with the ballast base, Elicro stands at 249 cm, compared to 240 cm with the floor fixing.
No, the ballast weights are not included. You will need 4 slabs measuring 50×50 cm, approximately 20 kg each (80 kg in total). The base arrives complete with a lid and feet, ready to receive them.
They are standard 50×50 cm concrete slabs, widely available at any DIY store or garden centre across British high streets and retail parks. No proprietary spare parts to order.
Yes, the base can accommodate 4 optional 40×40 cm slabs (approximately 12 kg each). However, they bring the total system weight to around 248 kg: we do not recommend them for terraces or flat roofs, and we suggest reserving them for suitably rated concrete slabs or ground-level installations.
With the required ballast, the complete system weighs approximately 165 kg/m², a value compatible with structurally compliant floor slabs (minimum load capacity of 200 kg/m² for habitable floors). For specific cases, have the load capacity checked by a qualified engineer.
No. The base simply rests and is ballasted; the 4 adjustable feet, with 30 mm of travel, compensate for uneven surfaces and level Elicro perfectly.
Practically none: galvanised steel is maintenance-free under normal conditions. In coastal areas, we recommend a periodic visual check and a rinse with fresh water to remove salt deposits.
