Kyma Diamond Custom sheer roller shade for indoor use

Kyma Diamond is a made-to-measure roller shade that lets light through in a diamond pattern. In Greek, Kyma means wave, and that's the shape we chose for the painted aluminium fascia, which closes off the window in one continuous curve. Its sheer fabric, Diamond, with tightly woven diamonds on an open base, makes the shade a good fit for living rooms, open-plan living areas and rooms where the shade should stand out.

  • Lets the light in: 20% to 32% of visible light passes through depending on the colour, and in the evening, with the lights on, you can see in from outside.
  • Fascia and bottom rail in the same powder-coated aluminium alloy: solid metal, in six colours.
  • Tightly woven diamonds: between the diamonds the weave opens up, and in sunlight the shapes are cast across the room. Two colours, order fabric samples.
  • Can be motorised: the motor recharges via USB-C and is controlled by remote control or voice assistant.

Diamond's pattern is made of two different weaves. The diamonds are tightly woven, the space between them is much more open, and light passes through almost only there.

You see the result when the sun hits the window: the shapes travel into the room and settle on the floor and walls. It's the only one of our fabrics that casts a geometric pattern rather than even light.

It's also the boldest in the range, and it isn't a neutral fabric. Choose Diamond when you want the blind to be part of the room, not a surface that disappears.

WARNING – CHILD SAFETY: The chain poses a potential strangulation hazard to children. Keep the chain out of reach of children. Do not place cots, beds or furniture near the blind: children could climb up and reach the chain. Do not knot the chain. Install and use the safety devices supplied (chain tensioner and safety hooks) correctly, following the instructions. The chain tensioner must be fixed to the wall with slight tension. The chain must stay at least 1.5 m above the floor.

Indoor. It's designed for windows, French doors and glazed walls in homes, studies and offices.

Not very: it lets through 20% to 32% of visible light depending on the colour. It's the densest of our three sheer fabrics, but it's still a sheer and won't darken the room. For darkness, there are the Blend Blackout and Canvas Blackout fabrics; for screening, the light-filtering fabrics Horizon, Earth and Fine Line.

The size of the blind and how you choose to operate it. Our design service is free and helps you decide both.

The plate. Kyma has a wave profile, Recta a geometric one. Fabrics, sizes, motor and performance are the same.

A little during the day, yes in the evening. Diamond rates 0 out of 4 for night-time privacy under the EN 14501 standard in both colours: with the lights on, people outside can see in. If privacy matters to you, take a look at the light-filtering fabrics Horizon and Earth, or the blackout fabrics.

Diamond: 100% polyester, 220 g/m² and 0.70 mm thick. It's the heaviest and thickest of our non-blackout indoor fabrics.

The amount of light and privacy. A sheer fabric like Diamond lets through 20% to 32% of visible light and doesn't hide the room in the evening. A light-filtering fabric like Horizon stays between 19% and 44% and rates 2 out of 4 for night-time privacy, while Earth goes down to 6%. The plate, sizes and motor stay the same.

Not much: Diamond reflects 27% to 38% of solar energy depending on the colour. If summer heat is a problem for you, take a look at Earth, which reaches 49%, or a blackout fabric, which reaches 75%.

It's the standard that rates how a blind performs on a scale from 0 to 4. Diamond scores 2 or 3 for daylight utilisation depending on the colour, 0 for glare control and 0 for night-time privacy.
