Recta Canvas Blackout Custom blackout roller shade for indoor use

Recta Canvas Blackout is a made-to-measure roller shade that blocks light completely. The Recta fascia has a geometric profile, a clean line that matches square window frames. Its blackout fabric, Canvas, has the regular weave of canvas, making the shade a good fit for bedrooms, children's rooms and home cinema rooms.

  • A completely dark room: Canvas Blackout fabric has 0% light transmission.
  • Fascia and bottom rail in the same powder-coated aluminium alloy: solid metal, in six colours.
  • Canvas-weave fabric: yarns in different shades of the same colour, for a clean, even surface. Three colours, order fabric samples.
  • Can be motorised: the motor recharges via USB-C and is controlled by remote control or voice assistant.

Our blackout fabrics are double-sided textiles. On the front there is the decorative face, where the Canvas weave interlaces yarns of different shades of the same colour, with the regularity of a painter's canvas.

On the back we chose a white layer rather than black, because it reflects more of the heat that reaches the glass, and the room stays cooler than it would with a dark backing.

It is the two layers together that block the light, not the shade, which is why all five colour options have a 0% light transmission.

WARNING – CHILD SAFETY: The chain poses a potential strangulation hazard for children. Keep the chain out of children's reach. Do not place cots, beds or furniture near the roller shade: children could climb up and reach the chain. Do not knot the chain. Correctly install and use the safety devices supplied (chain tensioner and safety hooks), following the instructions. The chain tensioner must be fixed to the wall with slight tension. The chain must remain at least 1.5 m from the floor.

The fabric has 0% light transmission: no light passes through it. A sliver of light may still come in at the sides, depending on how you fit the blind: the wider the plate compared to the recess, the less you'll see.

No. Canvas Blackout has 0% light transmission in every colour: it's the structure of the fabric that blocks the light, so you get the same darkness whichever colour you choose.
